Each Residency comes with a $2000 Stipend, Possible public EVENTS, exhibition, Manta Ray Experience, and more support.
We've expanded the residency space and are NOW ABLE to offer it to Families, couples, single artists AND Artist Troupes and Collectives. Now more than ever we've ensured that ALL artists are given this amazing opportunity.
With a possible Public Presentation at the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, and a separate studio space in or near the Park. Vehicle required. Possible public workshop may be given by the Resident at the Park and / or in Volcano.
The artist(s) will also have the opportunity to offer a public event at Volcano Art Center during their Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Artist in Residence term.

Accommodations in a 3-bedroom, 3-bath house less than 30 miles away from the heart of the park and close to our amazing Green and Black Sand Beaches.
Possible Art donation through NPAF to NPS Collection at Hawai'i Volcanoes.
The Park boundaries include two legendary and sacred volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa, as well as rainforests and mysterious and ever-changing active lava flows. This is a unique dramatic environment for all media to flourish and to inspire new breakthroughs in process and result.
NPAF’s Fine Art curator, along with our select judges and panelists will consider solicited proposals through a competitive application process to identify artists deserving of a residency at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. National Parks Arts Foundation, with the Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and through many generous partner donations, provides $2000 stipend, lodging, and a venue(s) for public presentation(s) and possibly donating art to National NPS Collections.
NPAF may also be partnering with the National Park Service, NPS Friends groups, park partners, recognized museums, galleries, schools and underserved peoples organizations to promote Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park Artist-in-Residence Program.

NPAF is now offering a customizable residency inspired by Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park and the island paradise of Hawai'i. In recognition of its outstanding natural values, Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park was designated as an International Biosphere Reserve in 1980 and a World Heritage Site in 1987. In 2012, the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park was honored in the America the Beautiful Quarters series.
